KC&W University Free Beta Privacy Policy

Plain-language summary: The free beta asks for a first name, exact age, city, state/region, country, learning background, interests, learning goal, and a learner-chosen username and password. It does not ask for a surname, email, phone number, street address, school name, or payment information.

What the beta processes

The browser sends the assessment answers and lesson messages to KC&W University's server so an AI model can generate and continue the lesson. Internet infrastructure also necessarily processes technical information such as an IP address and browser headers for delivery, security, and abuse limits.

What KC&W stores

KC&W stores the learner's username, one-way password hash, assessment profile, generated curriculum, and lesson conversation so the learner can sign in and continue later. Passwords are not stored in readable form. An opaque sign-in cookie keeps the learner signed in on a device; the server stores only a one-way hash of that token. Temporary one-way rate-limit hashes may also be held for security and abuse prevention.

AI service provider

Assessment and lesson text is transmitted to KC&W's contracted AI API provider to generate the curriculum and tutor reply. The provider is an integral service processor, not an advertising partner. Learners should never enter passwords, contact details, school names, street addresses, medical details, or other private information in lesson text.

Children and youth

The beta asks age neutrally. A known learner under 13 is stopped before assessment answers or chat are sent to the AI. A standard checkbox is not represented as verifiable parental consent. No advertising, public profiles, learner-to-learner messaging, or behavioral tracking is part of this beta.

Retention and deletion

Account profiles, curricula, and lesson conversations are retained so learners can resume. A self-service deletion control is not yet available during beta; deletion requests may be sent to the contact below. Operational server and reverse-proxy logs may temporarily contain technical request metadata needed for security and reliability; they should be minimized and rotated.
